Office Manager (Filled)

CMC is looking for an energetic and skilled office manager to help manage and improve the internal operation of our business.

The ideal candidate will free up leadership and others to perform tasks where they excel, enabling them to provide substantially more value to the company and our clients. This is likely the difference between maintaining our current status quo and being able to take the company to the next stage.

Ideally, our office manager brings enthusiasm to work and is energized by helping manage and solve the many challenges of a growing business. They will own the vast majority of internal processes like:

  • Human Resources
  • Office management
  • Invoicing
  • Expense tracking
  • Internships
  • LabVIEW User Group coordination
  • Choose Movement communication
  • Employee events
Our office manager should be interested in and be counted on to help with marketing and process development, and in particular capable of finding high quality individuals to fill gaps in areas where we need additional help.


As a people-person, our office manager will ideally enjoy working directly with clients and employees alike. They should embody our values while being consistently on point, driving tasks to completion. As a person central to our core operations, reliability will be essential.

The office manager smoothly handles the day-to-day administrative operation of the business with check-ins and discussion as needed. Leadership is freed up to focus on business strategy, customer relationships, product development, and employee mentoring. Employees have a reduced administrative burden via improved processes and someone who can handle common tasks like expense reports. Minimum Requirements

  • Has reviewed and is on board with the Choose Movement strategy.
  • Cheerful, outgoing personality that enjoys engaging with and motivating others.
  • Strong attention to detail and enjoys driving tasks to absolute completion.
  • Excited about learning new skills and software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word formatting and Excel spreadsheet formulas.
  • Experience with budgeting and excellent money management.

Ideal Requirements

  • Meets all Minimum Requirements.
  • 5-10 years of experience in an Office Manager or Administrative role.
  • Experience with benefit management and processing payroll.
  • Experience with company bookkeeping.
  • Understands basic IT troubleshooting.

We do not currently have any engineer openings, but this is typically what we look for:

Systems Engineer

Design, develop, and deploy automated test systems, applications for automated assembly, control systems, and research & development tools. Responsibilities will include:

  • Writing high quality LabVIEW software
  • Working directly with clients and managing client relationships 
  • Defining project requirements
  • Spec'ing hardware
  • Working with a wide range of hardware systems
  • Integrating software and hardware
  • Deploying systems at client locations (primarily around the Twin Cities, MN)
  • Documentation for validation and verification
  • Both owning projects and working as part of a team
  • Personal time management
  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Optional: sales and account management

 Minimum Requirements

  • Familiarity with LabVIEW Object-Oriented Programming, QMH design pattern, and instrument control through VISA
  • Experience writing your own automation software in LabVIEW used by others
  • Willingness to adapt your LabVIEW programming style to our style guidelines

Ideal Qualifications

  • Enjoys being a source of motivation for others and drives tasks to completion.
  • Engineering or technical background, especially electrical engineering or physics
  • 5-10 years experience in industry, especially medical device, mil/aero, or automotive
  • Experience working in a consulting environment
  • LabVIEW Certified Developer or LabVIEW Certified Architect
  • TestStand experience
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages (SQL, C/C++, Python, NodeJS, C#, Java)
